IT Generalist / IT Specialist
Role Summary:
The IT Generalist / IT Specialist is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, support, security, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IT environment.
This role combines end‑user support, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity execution, acting as the local IT backbone while aligning with group‑level IT policies and standards.
The role ensures reliable IT services, secure systems, regulatory compliance, and user readiness across all office locations.

Reports To:
IT Manager (Functional coordination with Group / Central IT from Setec and Managing Directors)
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Operations & End‑User Support
Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support to users (hardware, software, network, and access issues).
Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents promptly to minimize business disruption.
Install, configure, and maintain end‑user devices, applications, and collaboration tools.
Conduct basic user training to improve IT literacy and cybersecurity awareness.
2. Infrastructure & Systems Management
Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and business applications.
Coordinate provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades of hardware and software.
Ensure system availability, data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
Liaise with vendors, service providers, and central IT teams as required.
3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management
Monitor systems and logs for security threats, vulnerabilities, and abnormal activity.
Respond to cybersecurity incidents, containing threats and supporting recovery actions.
Implement and enforce IT security policies, controls, and secure configurations.
Support vulnerability management activities including patch management and remediation.
Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and cybersecurity standards.
4. Policies, Documentation & Compliance
Maintain IT and cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, asset inventories, and configurations.
Support internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
Ensure local implementation of group IT and security policies.
Prepare periodic IT and security status reports for management.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with business teams to understand IT needs and propose practical solutions.
Coordinate with central/group IT on systems, cybersecurity, and strategic initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, security posture, and user experience.
Stay informed on emerging IT and cybersecurity trends relevant to the organization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
(or equivalent practical experience).
Experience
Experience in an IT Generalist, IT Specialist, or similar role.
Hands‑on experience supporting users, managing systems, and administering IT environments.
Technical Skills
End‑user support (Windows/macOS), hardware setup, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
Experience with Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and endpoint management.
Basic to intermediate cybersecurity knowledge (access control, patching, endpoint security).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and security best practices is an advantage.
Certifications (Preferred)
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
Microsoft or cloud‑related certifications
Any recognized cybersecurity certification is an advantage
