About the Role
The GIS Lead will be responsible for leading the GIS team within the Central Riyadh Regeneration Program. This role requires a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in urban planning, spatial analysis, geospatial database management, and digital mapping technologies. The GIS Lead will manage two GIS Specialists and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide accurate geospatial insights that drive decision-making for urban development, heritage conservation, and infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities
Manage two GIS Specialists, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality geospatial data outputs. Develop and implement GIS methodologies to support master planning, land use management, infrastructure development, and real estate projects. Oversee the collection, validation, integration, and management of geospatial datasets, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Utilize ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and BIM tools to conduct spatial analysis, generate geospatial models, and create interactive maps and dashboards to support decision-making. Maintain and optimize geospatial databases, including data import/export processes and the integrity of database schemas. Work closely with the Real Estate Lead and other departments to provide GIS solutions tailored to project needs. Engage with municipal authorities and regulatory bodies for data integration. Develop customized GIS reports, dashboards, and visualizations to facilitate urban development tracking and impact assessment. Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies and methodologies, introducing innovations that enhance efficiency and data-driven planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, and urban planning for large-scale development projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preferred) in Urban/Town Planning and Geographic Information Systems
- Strong proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and BIM is preferred.
- Expertise in geospatial database management, including data sourcing, validation, and spatial analysis.
- Experience in cadastre management, land use planning, and real estate development projects.
- Prior leadership experience, managing GIS teams in multidisciplinary urban planning projects.
- Excellent analytical, visualization, and reporting skills to translate geospatial data into actionable insights.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
